Why?

Why do I know so many people who are pregnant with their fourth child?

And why, when they know that I have recently gone through two failed IVF treatments, has each of them felt it necessary to tell me that this one was an 'accident'? Am I supposed to share their pain at having to put up with an extra child that wasn't really wanted?

Sometimes I think I must have done something very wicked in a past life...

  1. I really don't understand why people (especially those who KNOW about your IF issues) feel compelled to tell you their child was an accident. I have heard that before, too. It's almost like they're saying, "well don't blame me, it's not like he/she was PLANNED" as if they're somehow trying to excuse the fact that they have 4 children when speaking to someone with IF. It's just hurtful, awkward, and weird.

I am sorry you had to listen to that. =(

  2. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Frustrating. Really makes you want to throttle them doesn't it? And after awhile, you maybe feel bad that you felt that way, but it doesn't change the fact that it still pisses you off. I wish people knew the right thing to say.
